HARRASSOWITZ Goes Green – With Paper Reduction, Renewable Energy and Equipment Recycling:
You can help by reducing the number of paper invoice copies you receive!
HARRASSOWITZ has long been committed to minimizing its impact on the environment by reducing waste, recycling supplies and equipment, and avoiding the use of energy from non-renewable sources. To support this initiative, HARRASSOWITZ would like to suggest that customers reduce the number of paper copies of invoices to just one or two rather than the current default of three.
If you feel you can reduce the number of copies your library receives, please send a note to service@harrassowitz.de, indicating the number you want, and for which products: subscriptions, standing orders, monographic firm orders, approval plans, and/or music scores. If HARRASSOWITZ receives your message by September 1, your instructions will be applied to the upcoming September subscription invoices. Customers who are currently receiving invoices via EDI will, of course, continue to do so.
Did you know that HARRASSOWITZ also reduces waste by reusing and recycling supplies and equipment whenever possible? New equipment is always eco-friendly and complies with all environmental regulations, and old equipment, such as computers and printers, is donated to the Caritas organization to be refurbished and distributed to local schools and charitable organizations. To further reduce its carbon footprint, HARRASSOWITZ will change its current energy use of 0% nuclear, 60% fossil fuel (gas) and 40% renewable (water) to 100% renewable (water) by January 1, 2012.
For further information on reducing the number of invoice copies or HARRASSOWITZ's "Going Green" initiative, please contact service@harrassowitz.de or your Regional Sales Manager.
