HARRASSOWITZ to Once Again Sponsor ALCTS Web Course:
HARRASSOWITZ has once again teamed up with ALCTS, the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services, to sponsor the 2011 Fundamentals of Electronic Resources Acquisitions (FERA) web course.
The first session is currently taking place, but subsequent sessions will be held on the following dates, with online chat sessions scheduled regularly throughout:
April 4 – April 29
May 16 – June 10
July 11 – August 5
August 22 – September 16
November 14 – December 9
The course is open to anyone interested in electronic resource acquisitions and does not require any previous experience. It will provide basic background information on acquiring electronic resources, including product trials, licensing, purchasing methods, and pricing models, and will also touch on the relationships between vendors, publishers, platform providers, and libraries.
The cost per session remains the same as last year, with $109.00 for ALCTS members and $129.00 for non-members.
