HARRASSOWITZ calls a new reference work to your attention that will be published annually and cover the contents and table of contents of collections of novellas, short stories and narrative pieces. So far there has been no bibliographical listing of such contributions in collections of prose pieces of various kinds. The idea is to identify which pieces are contained in which volume of collections and to assist in finding pieces of a certain writer that are hidden in such collected editions.
The reference work will contain information on literary prose collections as long as they contain at least two contributions of authors and narrators, either in original German or translated into German.
The first volume covering the imprints of 2003 and 2004 will cover more than 500 prose volumes and identify contributions of well-known authors as well as authors that do not yet have a record of publications of their own. The second volume will cover the imprint years 2005 and 2006. Beginning with volume 3 there will be a retrospective coverage of earlier imprint years together with the ongoing information on currently published collections.
