New SpringerImages database now available from HARRASSOWITZ:

Springer has just released SpringerImages, an STM image database containing over 1.5 million photos, graphs, histograms, tables and more, taken from trusted sources such as SpringerLink and images.MD, the online encyclopedia of medical images. The collection is growing rapidly as new information is published.

Libraries may subscribe to the complete collection of SpringerImages or to the Medical and Life Sciences collection only. Single-site, multi-site, and consortia licenses are available.

SpringerImages can be explored at their website. There are almost 30,000 images that can be viewed for free. Each image contains links to the article or document in which it appeared, as well as links to other images found in that article. An advanced search option allows the user to find images by subject, article author, author affiliation, source publication, specific issue of the source publication, publication date, and more.
